For those who apply directly in Spain while legally residing or during a permitted stay period, the procedure is fully digital via the Portal of Immigration, using a digital certificate. In this modality, authorization can be granted with a validity up to three years.

It's important to note that although many desire speed, the application strategy should align with the individual's migratory status at the time of submission. Those already residing in Spain must ensure all documents, such as the digital certificate and compliance with income requirements, are impeccable before submitting an electronic request to avoid rejections that interrupt their stay in the country.
