Sónar Barcelona 2026: Guide for Brazilians Who Want to Go This Weekend

From June 18-20, Barcelona hosts the largest electronic music festival in Spain. Sónar is one of the biggest and most respected electronic music festivals in the world — taking place in Barcelona from June 18 to 20, 2026. If you are in the city or can make it there this weekend, it's an experience well worth having.

What is Sónar?

Founded in 1994 in Barcelona, Sónar combines electronic music, digital art and technology into a unique format. It's not just a DJ festival — it’s part exhibition, part conference, part rave. It attracts an international and diverse audience, including many Brazilians from the fields of technology, design, and music.

In 2026, for the first time in the history of the festival, Sónar de Dia and Sónar de Noche will take place at the same venue: the Fira Gran Via, located in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat — next to Barcelona, with direct metro access.

Line-up 2026

This year's lineup includes heavyweights from the international electronic scene:

  • Charlotte de Witte — high-intensity Belgian techno
  • Amelie Lens — another reference in European techno
  • Skepta — British grime with hip-hop crossovers
  • Kelis — pop and R&B icon with live performance
  • Modeselektor — experimental German electronic music
  • Nia Archives — jungle/drum and bass of the new generation
  • Boys Noize, Joy Orbison, KETTAMA — among over 100 confirmed artists

Tips for First-Time Attendees

  • Arrive for Sónar de Dia — it usually has shorter lines, milder temperatures and a more experimental program (art and technology stages)
  • Sónar de Noche starts around 10 PM and goes until dawn — bring a light jacket for the early morning
  • Locate the stages before arriving: there are six different stages with distinct profiles
  • Bring headphones for the interactive experience area (SónarMàtica)
  • Check if your ticket includes access to Sónar+D (the conference and exhibition part) — it comes included in the VIP pass
