Job agencies in Spain exist precisely to connect those looking for jobs with companies that are hiring, both in person and remotely.

Public and Private Agencies

SEPE (Servicio Público de Empleo Estatal) is the official government agency of Spain, most similar to Brazil's "Sine." It publishes job openings, manages unemployment insurance, and offers free training courses. Website: sepe.es.

Among private agencies, three operate throughout almost all of Spain with both temporary and permanent positions:

• Randstad — strong in logistics, industry, and retail.
• Adecco España — covers IT, healthcare, and services among other sectors.
• Manpower España — a good option for short-term contracts.

For those looking for jobs on their own, InfoJobs is the most used platform in the country. Meanwhile, EURES is the official employment portal of the European Union, with job openings throughout all of the EU, not just Spain.

Remote Work: Websites and Platforms

Those seeking remote work, whether freelance or permanent, have options outside the traditional agency circuit:

• Fiverr and Freelancer for those offering one-off services (design, translation, programming).
• Workana, a Latin American freelancing platform widely used by Brazilians.
• LinkedIn, using filters to search specifically for remote jobs.
• WeRemoto and Trabajar por el Mundo, with curated 100% remote job listings in Spanish.
• Remote OK, Jobomas, Get on Board, and Indeed, more general remote job boards with language and country filters.

How to Know if the Agency is Reliable

Before signing a contract or paying any fees, it's worth confirming three things:

1. Is the agency registered? On SEPE’s website, you can check the list of licensed placement agencies. If it doesn't appear there, be suspicious.
2. Did they promise guaranteed employment without an interview? No serious agency does this, and even less so do they charge in advance to "guarantee" a job.
3. Is the contract registered? Every work contract in Spain must be recorded in the Ministry of Labor system. Ask to see the registration before signing.
